How should I prepare for any reflexology treatment?

You should arrive at your appointment wearing comfortable relaxed clothes and any trousers should be able to roll up towards your knees. You should think about your general health and come ready to discuss only what you feel comfortable sharing about your health and well-being

Just be aware that reflexology is usually performed with patient lying down, legs elevated. If this is not comfortable, then just make me aware and I can work around your needs.

Why is Duopody reflexology different to normal reflexology?

There are many types of reflexology, ranging from a "nice" foot rub often offered in hotels and spa's up to clinical reflexology, practiced by qualified professionals that have studied  therapeutic techniques. Ahead of booking, you should check whether the person is qualified for reflexology, or just a foot massage.

Duopody reflexology is one form of clinical reflexology for which you intensively study over a two year period. Because of this study time practitioners tend to be few, but committed to the therapy.

"Duo" meaning two, and "pody" meaning feet

Duopody is a unique reflexology technique in which both feet are treated at the same time. Each system in the body (macro) is treated as a direct anatomical reflection via the feet (micro). Each foot can also  represent pairs in life, such as past or present when dealing feelings, or male/female side.

Do you help treat terminal or chronic illness?

To be clear, there are no studies that show reflexology as a "curative" treatment.

However, reflexology has been shown to support the general health and side effects of terminal and chronic illnesses. Simply, it's time focussing on you, and your holistic wellness. Reflexology is offered as an adjunctive therapy (an add on treatment) to patients undergoing treatment for terminal conditions.

What should I expect from my first session?

In your first session, we will spend some time taking personal details, your health concerns and what your expectations are for your reflexology. I will spend time answering any questions you may have before your first treatment. Any information you share will be held in strictest confidence, and only for the purpose of treating you whilst you are a patient.
